Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday commemorating Christopher Columbus's landing in the Americas in 1492, and Columbus Day 2024 occurs on Monday, October 14. Christopher Columbus is the patron and namesake of the Knights of Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus was founded by Father Michael McGivney, who picked Christopher Columbus as a namesake for the organization because, in a time when anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant feelings ran rampant, the American public embraced this famous explorer.

Our Knights of Columbus will hold a drive for the families affected by Hurricane Helene. On Wednesday, October 16th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., they will be at the West side of the school, near where the Christmas tree lot is set up, to accept donations. They are asking for non-perishable items (food, socks, work gloves, bottles, etc.).
