Holy Oils in Repository
- Have Matt pour Holy Oils into a hole in the ground from all 3 containers. (If they "reak" from being there too long or are too full)
- Clean around jars for new oil.
- Pour Extra Virgin Olive Oil into all 3 containers, if needed.
- Keep red tablecloths from Palm Sunday on the right side tables in the Narthex to form a "box."
- Place Oils in order spaced out on a red tablecloth in Narthex. Place the #1, #2, #3 in front of the proper order for the procession.
- Place #4 on top of the basket of food put next to the table.
- Prepare in the Sanctuary a place to set the Oils when they are processed.
- Use the 4 tier (Have only 3 tiers showing), cover with gold cloth, and place #1, #2, and #3 (#1 being the lowest tier.) (Should be between the Altar and the Ambo)
- Place the basket with yellow artificial flowers at the top of the tier.
Luminaries for Outside find out where Fr. Chris would like to have the veneration (Church or Parish Center)
- Dottie Closer's students out the luminaries together, they are stored in the main Confessional. (Candles are the ones cut down from the Sanctuary Lamps that were partially used.) They are inside the brown bin,
- They used rocks stored in the Mary/Joseph side storage room to out inside the white luminary bags.
- Put candles in bags inside the white containers or bins.
- Put white containers or bins inside the Confessional along the wall
- On Holy Thursday evening, put out luminaries along the pathway to the Parish Center (BEFORE the Mass).
- Find several people to light all of them during Communion. (Go to Communion first.)
- After singing "Tantum Ergo" rearrange the Luminaries to come from the Rectory to the PC.
- After Night Prayer (Compline) at 10:15 PM and the Blessed Sacrament has been taken back to the Rectory, blow out all the Luminaries. Let them set to solidify, then unbag them. Place them back in the first cabinet of the Storage Room by Joseph and Mary statues. (You can use the yellow wagon to collect the luminaries,)
Luminaries for Eucharistic Ministers
- Prepare glass holders with battery-operated lights.
- Glass holders and candles are in the Bride's Room.
- Check battery-operated candles to see if they work.
- Place a candle in each glass holder.
- Place glass holder with candle back into the milk crate for Eucharistic Ministers to pick up.
- Leave all in the Bride's Room until Holy Thursday evening.
Feet Washing
- Get 12 towels for foot washing from a top right cupboard in the Divine Mercy Storage Room.
- There is a two-step stool behind the door in the Room.
- Place towels under the Credence Table in the Sanctuary.
- Put pitcher and bowl under the Credence Table. (Found in the Alter Server cabinets.)
- Have Matt bring over 12 chairs from the Extended Care Room at School.
- These chairs have green tennis balls on their feet. (This will be done on Thursday since the "The extended Care" room is used until 6 PM tonight)
- Place chairs in front of pews.
- Place bowl of water, soap dispenser, and hand towel on Credence Table for priests to wash their hands after "washing of the feet".
Basket of Food/Humeral Veil/Pange Lingua Song Sheets/Night Prayer/Ringing of Bells
- Basket with grape leaves and grapes in the Bride's Room. Fill the bottom of it with newspaper.
- Place light food containers in basket so it is not too heavy.
- Put # 4 paper on top of basket.
- Leave in Bride's Room until Holy Thursday evening.
Humeral Veil
- Place Humeral Veil by Presider's Chair in Sanctuary. (Check with Fr. Chris which one he wants) It can be found in the Divine Mercy Closet
Pange Lingua Song Sheets/ Night Prayer "Compline" Prayer Service (if going to Parish Center)
- Place Pange Lingua song sheets along the sides of pews for people to pick up for the Procession.
- Place box that these sheets were in on the table to collect them in the Parish Center.
- Place Night Prayer Sheets separately on the table in the Parish Center.
The ringing of the Bells
- Ring the bells during the refrain of the Gloria, and place the altar servers’ bells next to the Priest's chair (Fr. Chris will ring the bells). Inform the Altar server that they need to get the bells before going in front of the Ambo.
- Take off red Altar cloth, Ambo banner, and Tabernacle banner.
- Put on white Altar cloth, Ambo banner, and Tabernacle banner.
- Put red one's back up where the white ones were hanging.
- Steam Altar cloth of all wrinkles.
- Put the wheat banners up
- Place books for reading of the Passion: Narrator on altar side closest to the Ambo, Presider's in the middle, Voice is on the side closest to the Chairs.
Chapel
- Take off the red Ambo banner and Altar cloth,
- Put on a white Ambo banner and Altar cloth.
- Put red one's back up where the white ones were hanging.
- Steam Altar cloth of all wrinkles.
Place of Repose in Parish Center if we walk over
- Take over a white tablecloth for the Altar of Repose on stage in the Parish Center. It is in the Divine Mercy Storage Room.
- Take over lacy "veil" for over the Blessed Sacrament. It is in Divine Mercy Storage Room.
- Take over the snuffer (in Divine Mercy Storage Room) and a lighter for candelabra candles.
- Take over lighted stand used on Thursdays for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
- Fix the table on the stage for the Altar of Repose.
- Place a long table by the north doors to place Pange Lingua song sheets on after it is sung.
- Place a crate for the Eucharistic Ministers to put their Luminaries in.
- Take over 2 vigil lights and put them on either end of the Altar of Repose.
- Take over 2 white stands to arrange flower pots on each side of the Altar of Repose. 4 white flower arrangements should be there to use.
- During Adoration return to the Church to strip down white Altar cloth and banners.
- Cover the cross stands with Red and place them on the right side. Put the cross in it with a red shroud draped from it until the 3 PM Good Friday Service the next day.
