Decorate for Christmas

Monday - December 20 after the 8:30 Mass - Matt

  1. Matt takes the Advent Wreath down before the Pageant.

Wednesday - December 22 after the 8:30 Mass - Matt

  1. Matt brings over all tubs for the Christmas decorations.

Narthex

  1. Put up the Poinsettia tree in the center of the Narthex and add the light string in the star and put it on the top of the tree, and the box to turn it on somewhere that it can be reached to turn it on and off.
  2. Take the purple tablecloths off the tables and put the red ones on. If they need to be ironed, please do so. (Ironing board and iron are in the Altar Serving closet on the left. Iron is on the top shelf.) Place a single poinsettia on each table and add some ribbon and sew an angel to the outside of the foil.
  3. Change the banner to Christmas Banner.
  4. Arrange some white poinsettias in front of the Risen Christ statue.  We can use the short stands to make a nice arrangement.

Chapel

  1. Change the Altar Cloth and Ambo Banner to gold. (Steam as needed)
  2. Put up the 2 tinsel trees on either side of the Altar.
  3. Put lights on the 2 trees. (Plug separately under the Ambo)
  4. Put out the Manger Scene in front of the Altar. (Put cotton under it)
  5. Place the 3 sets of led lights inside and/or around the Manger.

 

Church

  1. Put the fall flowers away.
  2. Arrange Poinsettias in front of the Altar. We can use the Gold – four tiers stand and the single stands
  3. Place red and white poinsettias in the stand behind the Altar.
  4. Place red and white poinsettias on the right side of the Ambo at different levels.
  5. Arrange Poinsettias in and around the Jerusalem cross stands on the left side of the Sanctuary by the wall.
  6. Dress the trees behind the Altar with green material under the lighted trees and poinsettias around them.

 

Manger

  1. Hang the star on the
  2. Paint black in the needed spots in the manger
  3. Place the “dried grass” on top of the manger roof.
  4. Place spotlight so that it shines on the star that hangs on the wall behind the Manger.
  5. Place the “straw” in the Manger – bed and around animals?
  6. Place the statues in the Manger.
  7. Place the 3 Kings on the Ambry stand (Oils), one on top, etc. Place a red poinsettia next to each King.
  8. Place poinsettias on the right side of the Manger at various levels.

 

Choir Railing - possibly

  1. Put green garland on the rail. (Either wrap it around or swag it.)
  2. Put white lights on the garland.
  3. Put large red bows strategically placed along the rail.

 

Tabernacle Railing - possibly

  1. If there is green garland left over after decorating the Choir railing, then do the same thing to the Tabernacle railing.

 

Poinsettias on Church Pews

  1. We will put the Flower holders with the baskets in the middle of the church, every other pew. We need to make sure that the holder plate is loose before putting them on the end of the pew.  The other row will have the Flower holders, every other pew. We will add ribbon or tulle (from the pandemic roping) to each of the flower. We will also sew an angel to each Flowers holder down the middle of the church. We will add either tulle or ribbon on the other

 

Friday December 24 Morning –

  1. Remove and box the Advent Ladder
  2. Change the color to Gold from Purple
