Ascension of the Lord

The Ascension of the Lord refers to “the entry of Jesus’ humanity into Divine Glory in God’s heavenly domain, forty days after Easter.”

The Ascension of the Lord is commemorated by the Catholic Church as a Solemnity and Holy Day of Obligation. In many areas of the United States, the Ascension is transferred to the Seventh Sunday of Easter.

Bishop Noonan’s Retirement Announcement

Editor’s note: The following is a letter to the faithful Bishop John Noonan offered on his birthday, Feb. 26, 2026.

My Beloved Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord! I am grateful to God for your faithfulness as I remember you constantly in my prayers, night and day. St. Paul reminds each one of us to stir into flame the gift of God! For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power, love, and self-control.

The Laetare Sunday

The 4th Sunday of Lent is known as Laetare Sunday, a day of joy.  We celebrate the diversity of our church community by saying our petitions in different languages.

We are currently looking for people to say one of the petitions in a different language which celebrates your heritage during Mass on March 14/15th. If you can help by saying one petition, contact Nicole at 321-268-3441. Please let her know which Mass you will be attending and the Language you will say the petition in.
